Your body knows how to heal; you just need a skilled guide. You and Wendy will work together to renegotiate old emotional and physical patterns that aren’t serving you well.
Wendy combines a deep knowledge of modern therapy with a natural capacity to support you in feeling safe, calm and ready to explore.
In additional to traditional therapy, Wendy brings in new ideas based on neuroscience and the connection of mind and body. It’s a professional, safe, nuanced experience in a warm and comfortable environment.
During your time with Wendy, you will move toward:
- Better self-regulation – reacting to what life serves up in a more positive way; and
- Improved resiliency – stronger ability to rebound from discouragements, small to large.
Flexibility and versatility
How do you know which technique will suit you? (How can you, when the academics themselves hold never-ending debates on the topic?) Many therapists only use talk therapy.
Wendy understands that everyone is different, so based on you and the nature of your situation, Wendy will leverage a range of therapy approaches. A lifelong learner, her current focus of study is on attachment theory and the neurobiology of attachment, the application of neuroscience to cognitive and emotional processing, mindfulness, and somatic approaches to the treatment of trauma. Wendy’s ongoing study of psychology, neuroscience, and therapeutic techniques informs every aspect of her work with you.
Traditional therapy can be slow in producing results. While it’s never a hurry-up business, some of the newer techniques Wendy uses tend to produce results more quickly, maximizing your chances for faster healing.
Open to new ideas, seeking the best path
